Ta'Ria Wideman-Founder

Ta’Ria Wideman was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She attended the Dr. Lydia T. Wright School of Excellence during her early years where she was very active in the arts and apart of the Leaders In Training (L.I.T) development program. Ta’Ria also attended and graduated from Buffalo Prep; a preparation program for students who wish to attend private high schools in the area. Through this program Ta’Ria earned the Oishei Scholarship which paid her full tuition to attend The Park School of Buffalo.

Upon graduating she attended Canisius College in Buffalo where she received her B.A. in Political Science. During her undergrad career she also studied French, minored in History, interned in D.C., participated in Eurosim, studied abroad in France and worked for The Erie County Democratic Committee, the County Board of Elections and on many individual campaigns.

After college, Ta’Ria worked in the non profit sector working with youth and the Intellectually Disabled community. She went on to become the Civics & Economics Chair for The Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals. Under her leadership the YPs organized and executed Buffalo’s First Black Restaurant Weekend.

Ta'Ria currently works as the High School Program Manager for Buffalo Prep where she oversees their year round and summer classes. She also works with people with developmental disabilities through Community Services for Every1.
